Communications Officer (full time - maternity contract)

CAADA is an innovative domestic abuse charity working to save lives by transforming the way victims are supported. We provide practical tools, training, guidance, quality assurance, policy and data insight to support professionals and organisations working with domestic abuse victims. This is an exciting time to join CAADA. Over the next five years we aim to:

•  Halve the number of victims experiencing high risk domestic abuse from 100,000 to 50,000.

•  Halve the average time it takes for victims to seek help from 5 years to 2.5 years.

To help us achieve our aims, we are looking for an outstanding Communications Officer (full time, maternity contract), a Digital Marketing Executive (part time, one year contract) to join our Communications and Marketing team, and a Management Accountant (temporary contract) to join our Finance team.

Communications Officer
Maternity cover: fixed term contract (up to one year)
Salary: £27,000
Hours: Full time – 37.5 hours per week
Based: Bristol

You will lead in creating, executing and evaluating new communications activity for CAADA, including stakeholder, digital and enewsletter communications for local and national audiences. You'll also coordinate the production and editing of our publications and practitioner resources. With proven writing and editing skills, you'll be an excellent negotiator and will be used to working with senior internal stakeholders. Digital Marketing Executive
One year contract
Salary: £26,000 per annum, pro rata
Hours: Part time - 18.75 hours per week
Based: Bristol

You will lead the planning, implementation and evaluation of CAADA's B2B digital marketing activity to support a portfolio of income generating products. With solid experience in a digital marketing role, you will also contribute to the long term development of marketing activity at CAADA by establishing and monitoring new digital marketing systems. This is a busy and lively role, working in a friendly and hardworking team.

Management Accountant (temporary contract)

Reports to Finance Manager
Hours: 22.5-30 hours per week (3-4 days)
Holiday: 25 days + bank holidays (pro rata)
Start date: ASAP
Location: Bristol
Salary: £25,000 (pro rata)

Key purpose of role
To provide timely and accurate management information to the organisation.

Responsibilities
• Completion of month end tasks, including journals and account reconciliations.
• Preparation of monthly management accounts for budget holders, directors and trustees.
• Identification of key variances, and to follow these through with budget holders and the Finance Manager.
• Assist the Finance Manager in the annual budget process.
• Assist the finance manager with forecasts as required through the year.
• Hold meetings with budget holders, as necessary, to support the production of management accounts, budgets and forecasts.
• Preparation of ad hoc reports and analysis, as required, to assist in the management of CAADA’s finances.
• Assist the Finance Manager in costing services and business modelling.
• Support the production of year end accounts and provide information to support the audit as required.
• Providing financial information for fundraising bids and for donor reporting.
• Assist with maintenance of the CAADA’s accounting ledgers, including entering transactions onto the ledgers.

Knowledge and experience
Essential:
• Part qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA), or qualified by experience.
• Ability to interpret financial information, and to respond proactively to this.
• Strong analytical and organisational skills.
• Ability to work to tight deadlines and prioritise time effectively.
• Excellent Excel skills.
• Excellent communication skills, and in particular the ability to explain clearly financial information to non-finance colleagues.
• Experience of preparing management accounts, including liaising with budget holders.

Desirable:
• Experience of budget and forecast processes.
• Experience and understanding of charity accounts.
• Experience of Quickbooks.
